I saw you sitting there so alone....
For Steve, my friend and fellow artist

Poem Artwork

It was my weekly ritual

Same table

at the same club

I looked across

and saw you

Sitting there

So withdrawn from all the

music and people

It was so unlike me

to buy a drink

or

talk to a total stranger

But something drew me

Somehow

I felt you needed me

Needed a freind

a sincere

smile

someone that would care

not for the man

 behind the fame

but for the man

and all he was inside

and you decided to let me in

We talked and you asked for more

I couldn't give that

I couldn't go with you out that door

but

I could offer my friendship and advice

we could become friends

and that seemed to be

what was in store

That in its self was so nice

Thank you for letting me in

Forever will I be your friend

I will be here day after day

to help ground you

when you loose your way

I'll do my best to cheer

you on your way

and be there for you at the end

of a stressful day

real friends don't walk away

they stay

So to you I offer my friendship

till the end of our days

Until forever is no more

In my heart you will always

have a home!

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
