NEWBORN VERSE

I believe in my poems as much as I believe in mankind. Wise people say that poetry enriches human souls, and I say that poetry is a tear on the face of mankind, and this is why mankind needs it. Because, once that tear disappears, mankind will be gone too. Tears give birth to compassion. This is why I believe in these poems, because they awaken compassion in people.

NEWBORN VERSE

I could write a new verse today

About two roses

That we laid down onto the black soil

When we parted,

Perhaps even a poem

About the warm tears that were mutely sliding

Into the craddle of your wonderful soul.

I could call you loudly,

Without shame and boundaries,

Like a bird calls another bird,

But my throat is trapped by silence

Born to powerful solitude.

Yesterday, I loved you less than I do today,

And the living memories are proof of that,

Memories that are warmly flowing

Through the dreamy summer air,

Like blood is flowing through veins.

In the silence of this summer day I could write a poem

About our last dance below the old walnut tree,

From which the beautiful memories still emanate,

But the sun is still so cold without you,

Shining like gold:

Cold and deadly blinding.

When solitude tends to my heart with sadness,

All I have left are memories

To give birth to a verse

Like a wonderful child of hope.

While the present haunts me into the past,

I haunt my spirit towards the sun's golden craddle,

So it would become a blood brother to the newborn verse,

Because I might see you tomorrow

And read this poem to you.

Will we ever be together again?

When you left, my one and only,

All that was left behind was the echo

Of your angelic voice,

Will we ever be together again?

Since you've left,

This restless souls is aimlessly wandering the path of dreams,

Like an accursed shadow, looking for a new beginning

At the end of the road,

Will we ever be together again?

While I am lying in my dark void,

The loving soul is unfaltering

In its search for you in hazy and scattered mornings,

Like the harmonious beat of a street performer's sad ballad,

Knocking at the door to your heart,

Will we ever be together again?

(Wise people say that the soul is more capable

in leading the body to its goal than the mind.)

My passion

That I used to braggingly wave in front of the world's eyes,

Like the flag of the most powerful empire - invincible love,

Now, as an old dying man, waits in the dark void

To hear your warm, gentle voice full of love,

Will we ever be together again?

Like a colorless warrior,

I am waiting in the dark void for a new battle,

To defeat fate with fate,

Because it is noble and idyllic to die for love,

Yet more noble to live from love,

Will we ever be together again?

Although I wandered all my life,

Faithfully serving the restless spirit,

Now I patiently await your return,

Always in the same place,

Just like a prairie flower

Waits for a droplet of heavenly dew,

Will we ever be together again?

To a poet without passion,

Each new step is closer to death than to life,

Because a spirit without passion is like ashes in the soul.

When I look for comfort in the bottle,

Memories are my only sincere company,

Because comfort is short-lived

In the seductive eyes of the ladies of the night,

Will we ever be together again?

There is no shame in being born without love,

But it is shameful to die without having loved,

And here in this dark void lies a man

Who is ready to die for love,

Will we ever be together again?

In this dark void,

I am battling dark apparitions,

It is shameful to die without hope,

And everything makes more sense this way,

Both love and suffering

And life and death,

Will we ever be together again?

Very eloquent verse, I feel the sadness, but I also see a poet who has a grasp of and the vocabulary to put those feelings into a form easy to understand.
Excellent work.
