For my little dog of 17 years who recently passed on--Bye bye sweet pea, you were a great friend and companion--You will always be missed--

The drone of the quietness rings softly in my ear,
Gone now is the sound of one so dear.
I keep a vigil watch though it’s more habit now,
Echoing visions keeps a raised brow.

I catch myself so haunted by routine,
I feel oddly… as if in a dream.
I keep going back to show I care,
But alas… there is no one there.

She gave me love and so much more,
That no person has given before.
How can that loss ever be right,
When all I do is cry at night.

My little companion gave all she could,
And saw in me only the good.
It’s quiet now as I am very sad,
Mourning over the good times we had.
