Dirty Pennies

How they get so gross, I'll never really know.
I hate those dirty pennies; I really, really do. Can't wait to get rid of 'em; some are covered in goo. How they get so gross, I'll never really know. Sick of washing my hands; filthy as a darn hippo. The only good thing about 'em; they say, In God We Trust. A penny lost, now and then; surely kept from utter disgust.

I don't worry. I crawled around in the dirt when I was a kid and most of those dirty organisms don't bother me at all. On the other hand, when I worked in a carnival and a game where people threw quarters onto plates for prizes, I went home every night and had to use pumice soap to get the grime similar to axle grease off my hands.

My uncle collected coins after he lost everything in the 29 stock market crash. He amassed a small fortune getting his hands dirty sorting coins had left his wife and children a great legacy of wealth.

I pick up every penny I come across. If I don't pick it up, somebody else will. Or, a penny found is a penny earned . . .
