I wrote this about one subject but some have interpreted it differently. I will leave it up you, the reader. I hope it makes you think. I would appreciate knowing what you think it is about please.
An orchid just beginning to bloom
A cygnet who never learned to fly
A star child condemned in the womb
Gone now and we are left wondering why
Your talent trashed your hopes crushed
Pushed until you self-extinguished
Success, now your cries she has shushed
She cares not for those who now are anguished
Who urged you die a thousand times?
Ask the puritanical harridan
She used her tongue to commit crimes
She wrecked your mind again and again
Your constant torment is at an end
Ones who cared are left wondering why
Never to heal or ever comprehend
We will live with the guilt until we die
An orchid just beginning to bloom
Too young to be forever in a tomb

This poem...all of your writing that I have read makes me think. It takes me away from myself to a distant place in thought. To me, this poem speaks of the atrocity, deceit and ambiguity of war...the "virgin" motivation quickly turned to ashes. For those left breathing...the soul crushed.
