home...unrequited love

Poem Artwork

I stepped out onto the street

                   and took a deep breath

The toxins

along with small portions of air, filled my lungs

"with me" not wanting to let go

I exhaled, but only once...I had to

This place is one where, while underneath...grey skies,

frowns and cries are exchanged for smiles and laughter

and "Love" - is the only definition shared

               in this life

                    and the next

which is eternal

                       and immortal

So my talks with her

                  eliminated my walk with her

and we were found nude

                  Also care vanishes

for some sooner than others

                  Because what we see...

hear

        and touch

                      is opposite of...

'needs aren't wanted'

                      and 'wants aren't needed'

And so, stomachs are

                       replaced with narrow pockets

Leaving the pursuit

of achieving the long term 'model'

                 just to die...

                          wholeheartedly - inlove

Ahhh . . . A few lines confused me, but even so I understood that even they were there to give the poem meaning and more than meaning . . . Life!
