You nailed it with this one! So many pour their hearts out in poetry only to be disappointed by the result. Poetry, for me is a little splashing in that childhood puddle to sharpen my vocabulary and play with my latest whim.

Oh I like this, especially the use of "assiduous," for that is energy-intense in itself. Pouring such vitality (of either dark or light nature) into the written word does draw down the lemonade in the pitcher. Perhaps I don't pity the writers who empty essence into the written word if in the pitcher lemonade remains....and I truly think readers can sense how much is gone or still there; i.e., Walt Whitman might have written away every last leaf of his grass. Some pitchers, though, seem overflowing and it's got to go somewhere. Maybe the words you chose are like splashes from the child's pool to you, but this deliverance is remarkably deep and substantial to me. Thanks. ~~ Diana
