A Soulless Prayer
November 4, 2012
Now I cry myself to sleep
Silent solace as I weep
Thoughts awash o’er a face of tears
Giving in to a torrent of fears
Allowing the hatred of wretched life
And pity for the powerless laced with strife
Of one that’s lost, the devil’s swallow
Spat out into nothing, left to wallow
Aimlessly, alone, askew, adrift
Unable to make the black clouds shift
And yet, upon my wake
I give no one my soul to take
