The Young Woman and the Sea

August 22, 2014

Can there be

Anything lonelier

Than the sea of strangers

Amid the ocean of lovers

Snared in the net of life and

Swept away in the rip current of time?

As I drift I wonder

What is it that you hear?

What connects the how and the why?

In parallel universes we’ll always be

The who

The where

And the when

Nice take on the old concept of "there are many fishes in the sea." The question is: which one's for thee?

Made me think,
of my wallflower days,
wishing I somewhere else,
in a parallel universe,
being swept away.
