Damn, I thought I was a star... Until I met you.

My candle, my light...

my poetry's inspiration on a hot summer night.

That sounds a little corny; right?

I digress, I digress from fame and petti-ness,

for in her eyes she holds the fact that I am truly blessed.

She's shown me that my past relationships

were just poor attempts to settle for less!

She's the Princ-ess

that slayed the dragon of my emp-ti-ness!

But I digress... forgive me.

I thought I didn't deserve the best,

A lesson learned well when my dad left.

and yes!

it's the #1 cause of most black men's death

and the #1 reason women keep us steppen,

"To the left, To the left" (Beyonce')

So I,

grabbed the pen of my indecisive-ness

and wrote "Get your shit together"

across my chest.

Then she brought me a suit and a bullet proof vest

So I can provide and protect

all that she invests... In me.

That's why she acts crazy every time I try to leave...

Tell me "Get the hell out!"

Then hold her chest like she can hardly breathe!
