Awakening

Awakening

 

Nature once again

has brought me

  to my knees,

leveled my preferences

and must haves

with her unrelenting beauty.

 

Unrivaled, my thoughts

stand no chance

in the face of copper

sunsets, vast skyfuls

of passing clouds

and clear, open spaces.

 

I am a student of birdsong

seduced by nectar of roses,

flamboyant purple trumpets.

The wind presses wisdom

to my ears and I wake up

and listen.

Nature can be many things. Unrelentingly beautiful, or unrelentingly cruel. Ugly or wondrous, depending on your state of mind or your wilingness to suspend judgements. It is always interesting, especially when being illustrated by intrigueing and well arranged words. A well done piece Carol. Bob
