I know some may misjudge me by the style of poetry I write. Every day I deal with life and death, to the point where I want to cry. I escape from this reality by trying to give to others the laughter that towards some I can never give. Life is a precious thing that more often than not, most take for granted. I write this poem from my serious side, with hopes that just one stanza may change someone’s life.
As a blue moon floods the valley
And emerald mists kiss the ocean’s shore
I turn my thoughts beyond the skies
And once again ask God for more
My requests of him are not for me
But others I meet on my life’s road
I ask for them who suffer while dieing
Within his arms he might comfort and hold
Though my profession offers many a tool
To cure disease in blood and bone
The outcome is never mine to grant
Only Gods and his alone
I ask more for those of vindictive hearts
To seek the truth before they speak
And realize that breath’s of anger
Gives others visions that they’re weak
More I ask for those in love
To be patient with those they care
Instill understanding on the tree of life
It takes time for fruit to bear
For them whose partners have gone ahead
Deny them the feeling of being left behind
Let them see that in the end
All will gather in a place more kind
To the little ones with stomach’s growl
May others share a morsel for them to feed
Strike down those with molesting hearts
And those who defile their minds with lustful greed
For the homeless I ask for shelter
From the rich I ask they share
Give back some that life has given
So the poor knows that someone cares
More I ask for them in need
When devastation comes with storm
Hold their spirits on levels high
Give them dwellings safe and warm
I guess that’s all I’ll ask tonight
For I’m tired and truly worn
Please let these things I ask of you
Be delivered with the coming morn...
There is nobility and great compassion within the core of this rendering Chanti. Your poetry and work are to be complimented for the roots of their grace. May love and peace be always with you. Jon Michael
Chanti Lace, I must say your poem is impressive ... on a number of levels.
Hey, I'm not afraid to admit it; based on your appearance, I got more than I expected from reading your poem. Your depth of awareness of the wonderful, & not so wonderful elements of life drew & narrowed my focus on feeling your heart on every syllable you wrote in that poem. I have similar concerns as you do for the less "visible" among us.
When I have time, I'll definitely be reading your other works. Your thoughts are deep, & unfortunately unlike many if not most people, I like playing on the deep end : )
YOU WENT AWAY FOR A WHILE, CHANTILLY, BUT YOU CAME BACK...LIKE A FLOWER THAT RE-BLOOMS AFTER WINTER. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT YOU DEAL WITH DAILY AND I THANK GOD FOR GIVING YOU THIS OUTLET THAT NOT ONLY ONLY RELIEVES AND STRENGTHENS YOU BUT ALSO BLESSES THE READER. YOUR 'SOURCE' IS SURE! THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
If everyone did a little bit of which are asking every day, what a wonderful world would come about. So many spend their lives in trivia and bickering, when they're so much more they could do with their time. Your poem certainly raises awareness.
The mercy of the soul is a gift. The life you touch is the heart of pain and suffering, you try to heal. The waters of life flow beyond your dreams. You give and pray for those who suffer, you are a mortal angel. You are the one, who gives without asking. You are what one would call an angel sent to heal and love the ones, who need you the most
We honor life by living.
For the people you serve I am sure, though you may worry that your words fail- the light in your eyes is the best source of healing they will find.
And your words don't fail.
:)
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
