keep your feelings to yourself or else you might get hurt

Expressionless

Expressionless, that’s what I’ve learned to be

So you can’t read me, so you can’t see

Expressionless, that’s what I’ve learned to be

So you can’t see, the things you say and do to me hurt me

Though the cuts run deep, my heart won’t bleed

Then you’ll see that I can be, without emotion

Though the cuts run deep, my heart won’t bleed

Your cruelty to me is like a teardrop in the ocean

Expressionless, my face shows no expression

I want to give you the wrong impression

Expressionless, my face shows no expression

It’s my decision, I’ve cancelled my emotions

No personality test

Will tell if I love or detest

I’ll keep my cards close to my chest

Suspiciousness, it’s for the best

Expressionless, that’s what I’ve learned to be

So you can’t read me, so you can’t see

Expressionless, that’s what I’ve learned to be

So you can’t read me, so you can’t see

The things you say and do to me hurt me

There's something terribly wrong when we can express our feelings honestly. And trying to hide our nonverbal expressions is even worse. What brings us to this impasse? I can only think of being in the hands of someone torturing you.
