Tonight the world is reaching for the world I left behind
close your eyes and love me one more time
a kiss from your yesterday has been a troubled mind
close your eyes and love me one more time
drifters know a place to find rest a comfort in heart and soul
so as the dollars lay upon a silver chest
close your eyes and let the passion go
we live in outer shells of conquest and drinking hells
bells of love never pass our way
in her arms I am the best of both lover and friend
so close your eyes and love me one more time
strings of guitar ring across an old dance floor
as the cowboy stagers for the door
the girl hangs on his vest a kiss at his request
just love me one time like before
To night the world is reaching for the world I left behind
a kiss from your yesterday has been a troubled mind
drifters know a place to find rest a comfort in heart and soul
just love me one time like before

"Old Lovers Fit Like Cowboy Boots" is a beautiful rhythmic composition of poetic excellence. It sings under a special rhythm that reminds one of something between Pantoum and Villanelle. It did impress me for its contents, imagery and rhythm.
I salute You, Poet.
