Let us be poets this gentle morning:
I, Cyrano, and you, Roxanne
Together now and forever
Our song, a natural voice for all to hear.

Let us be poets this gentle morning:
Our laughter garlanded upon the rising sun's shaft
As it spills so softly through our open window.

Let us be poets this gentle morning:
And as the night's fell dreams slip away,
We will make of this always-now,
Something wholly new.

Let us be poets this gentle morning:
Our spirits entwinned,
While passion's lathe
Turns imagination's blade.

Let us be poets this gentle morning:
And breathing upon the glowing coal of love,
We shall hold forth our gift
Against the world's cold cruelty.

Let us be poets this gentle morning:
The soft breezes alone our guide,
And in the day's warmth, let us doze
Upon that grassy hill in the distance.

Let us be poets this gentle morning:
Between us words we shall need not:
And in this we will know the truth of poetry
Every poet discerns

A very uplifting and joyful piece extolling the poetry of morning… Especially with a loved one by one's side.
