Brown Eyes

The lure of brown eyes.

Poem Artwork

Pleading brown eyes piercing my conscience


Absently I look away, oblivious to the longing in his eyes


I'm busy, writing, surfing the net, or reading a good book


A soft sigh escapes as he looks away, giving up for the moment.


Ten minutes later he is back.  This time I relent, look at him with affection, pat his soft head, and fondle his long silky ears.


He is content and lies down next to my chair, where he keeps faithful vigil.

Awww. You have no idea how this plucked at my heart strings Sherri. When I came to America I left my furry best friend behind and I miss her more than I could express. How I long to stroke her silky fur and to cuddle her. Thanks for sharing this.

I love this one. Especially the line,

"A soft sigh escapes as he looks away, giving up for the moment."

PERFECTLY captured...they don't ask for much, but give so much in return. Beautifully penned!
