The Knight's Quest..
...the end of a fruitless search..

.................

It used to be that
once upon a tyme
was a delicious place
where elves and fairies
dwelt
without an earthly trace
and goblins growled

banshees screamed
to the lonely moon
as lovely lannanshi
stirred
her bogwood fyre
and gazed forever
into its embers

jeannie o’ the green teeth
smiled
her mossy grin
to travelers who
foolishly slipped in
lost in her cold
embrace

kelpies
toothless laughing
echoing
through the night dark
setting dogs
to howl
their midnight mournful

I’ve not much left......
my search for them
a lost cause........

strength betrays me now
and maille weighs
heavy upon my
knightly shoulders
my lance and broadsword
useless as is
my redemption

stalwart templar was i
who long searched
for them ‘midst
forest green
but lost the joust
to lies and
trickery

her icy flesh
mocking myne own
she slithers down
my belly
faerie lovely and bold
my vows lost to
seductress cold.....

“thy shield be the
light in tymes of need”

once upon a tyme
when morns
were silent misty
all was hushed
as the gentle flap
o’ wings unseen
ushered
from
golden sun rise
to the depth o’ the
loam dark,
the otherfolk.....

the ravens now
will have my eyes....

Sounds like a different Universe, and probably a lot more interesting one.
