......

I would dance with you now

In a litany of words, their origins

Unknown to me as they waltz

Across this page, unperceived

Thoughts I am baffled by, these

Words that sway in rhythm to

Things I have not the skills to

Articulate, speech inadequate

And feelings undefined.

My fingers seem to have become

Self-aware, sentient composers

That move of their own accord

And give no quarter to my lack

Of understanding, but guiding

Me through the motions, though

I sometimes stumble over the notes

When I try and second-guess my

Own ambivalent interpretations.

The music, if sometimes off-key, is

Perhaps because I have not listened

Well enough to the lessons involved, the

Workings of my inner self a mystery I

Have not solved, a dance of another kind

That these fingers have not the skill to

Create, but trying regardless in the hopes

That one day it will come to pass, and I

Will be able to hear a little better.

END

Wow! I cannot tell you what this does for me, but it is the most perfect Unfinished Symphony that my eyes have ever heard! What a concept - and what fluidity of expression of that which you say you struggle to identify and articulate!! Every note of this rings and resonates with me as clear as a bell and as sonorous as anything by Tchaikovsky! Am keeping to play over and over... TY Kate xx

I liked what you said here George, if I grasp it rightly, that the productin of poems, or writings of any sort I suppose, actually beyond the mind, and the fullness of the person involved, more than simple story telling telling or logic, Al

Be thankful for the gift you received. Words that flow this freely, are awe inspiring. And it was achieved by YOU, taking a leap of faith. One wouldn't have been possible without the other...

As with any instrument, it takes practice to become a master. The fact that you have desire and belief, pretty much guarantees that you will be successful. Wonderful poetry, smooth and clean. Nice work, George!
Take care,
Sherry

George, this is another example of the superb workings of your poetic mind. If you ever figure out how you do it , you're in trouble;-)
Don't fret about not knowing too much how it happens, when you can write like this, just accept and enjoy the gift!
