Hope and faith Are not the same. They are partners, Hope sans faith At least a modicum - Is lame, In vain. Look up Behold promise And believe it Or lie down In despair. There is as much Hope and faith In death As in life. That we Remember not At most But at least We know it In our guts. Fear forbids Our spirit. We cannot See it - Deaths promise For us. And somewhere Daffodils in spring Are not evidence enough, Only the insinuation Of that nameless power Pervading our spirit Whispers "yes" And sometimes We are hard of hearing. Addie W. Insightful and profound is this little gem. The denial of us mortals is well documented in the words of this poem and the secret knowing that most of us have concerning deaths promise is brought forth brilliantly. Superb.
