It has been a while since I put one of my mothers poems on. I use to be concerned of what I placed here on AD concerning her poems, but concerning circumstances of life in general now, I feel safe on putting poems of hers own that might be depressing, etc. as we all have thoughts concerning our lives, and she was at least brave enought to write them down, regardless. Katie
I prayed all my life for light, For worth that I could be, For acknowledgement of my entity For acceptance of me - By God. Unwilling to be his bastard I've yearned to be claimed, To be fortified and recognized Blood and soul as his. How can miracles be argued When life breathes and moves To look for other than that In the province of fools. I'm aware And I see and feel. Is there other more awesome field For consternation or affirmation of real? Look not to the water made wine Or for the dead to arise Merely to know and to be Merely to have acne Are grounds for cosmic surprise. Addie W. Williams .4/21/1982
