DID YOU KNOW

Did you know you were with me today?
We played tennis.
We walked on the beach.
We splashed like lovers in the waves.

Did you know you were with me last night?
We watched a movie.
We drank wine.
We never wanted to leave each other’s sight.

I ran twenty miles this morning; you kept up stride for stride.
We sat in the sand afterwards,
And wished upon the beautiful sunrise.

You were at the office with me tonight, talking on the phone.
You held my hand later through the dark,
So that I wouldn’t feel so all-alone.

I took a trip to the mountains, in search of inner peace.
I found you there, occupying my every thought,
My every sense,
My every dream.

I searched the stars and in every constellation, I saw you.
I sailed away and again you were there,
My true north, guiding me,
On my life’s lonely ocean so blue.

Did I hear your voice today, floating on the wind?
The feeling that came over me,
Was as if I had a friend.

You are with me everywhere I go and in everything I do.
In my writing now, it’s your hand that guides mine,
Making all my feelings of love come true .

Do you know your presence is a treasure to me, one that I will always keep?
With me today, and forever, your love will always be, Locked in my heart so deep!
