Written by a med student who really didn't want to be a doctor about what he thought were the Professors perspective and then His on life as a med student

Professor's-
Wake up at six and take to books Don't wash, don't shave, don't care for looks
Hurry over breakfast- for the class
At eight. Can't miss if you want to pass
From ten to twelve there's clinic, you know
You have no choice you have to go.
No leisurely lunch more classes await!
Hurry up now! Or you'll be late
Return to the dorm briefly at four,
The day's not done, there's lots more
Evening rounds in the general ward,
For clinical skills, you've got to work hard
Back to the dorm, rush through the meal
There are notes to study on how to heal.
Good sleep and rest are not for you
You're a medical student with things to do!

His-
He lazily gets up at six thirty five
Yawns, stretches himself, becomes alive
To a leisurely breakfast then he goes
He missed the class at eight he knows
There's a friend who his proxy would call
Nothing to worry- not at all
He'll go to the clinic- well- maybe,
There are some pretty girls to see
The clinic's over, its time for lunch
With a group of friends- a rowdy bunch
For a change, he goes to the afternoon classes
Calls proxies for friends and teases some lasses
Back to the dorm, its's time for tea
More fun and laughs and jokes- you see
In the evening he dresses up casually
In a blazer and loafers and usually
Goes to the movies with a couple of friends
Gossiping or talking of fashion trends
If to the flicks he doesn't go
He'll dress up in a suit or so
And off he goes to keep a date
Is out till twelve or even late.
So tell us please when should he study?
Life's so busy for our dashing buddy.

There is always one student who soaks up every word with very seemingly little effort. He/she is envied by one and all. But great actors never let you see them sweat. This is a well-crafted poem.

I had to laugh. Remembering some of the Indian fellows in the doctoral program in industrial engineering who seemed to be able to get through their studies like falling off a log while I studied hard and tried to deal with the math.

They were out fooling around seeing if they could go out with some of the cute coeds on campus and asking me how to do it. How to buy a car and how to drive it.

Those were the days…

Ron
