Each one claims It is the One The only One under the sun
To truth it has exclusive claim
And the franchise to the name
Known as God and its being Believing him-though not seeing
Each possesses the sole franchise
It alone is true and wise
And opines without fail
God looks human and is male
Lives behind the gate to Heaven
'Is there one? Or are they seven?'
'Doubters, skeptics go to Hell
For eternity there to dwell
Atheists too will burn in Hell
Faithful will the Heavens swell'
They chant, bow, kneel and pray
For themselves and those astray
They also wage Jihad and war
Crusades,pogroms near and far
In the name of truth and peace
Want their followers to increase
Doctrines pushed at early age
Brainwashing then sets the stage
For unquestioned obedience, faith
That is what the good Lord sayeth
In the name of love they instill
Intolerance, squash free will
To humankind I'd advocate
Just spread love ditch religion and hate

Another shooting in a church on Sunday. A church of a rather dubious religion conjured up from Christianity by a single man who claimed he had a vision of the "Latter Day Saints," whatever importance that is supposed to connote.
I have found among those, like me, who have given careful thought and broken away from the mythology of bloodline, nationalities, and history, to just live in the present, existentially, so much more peaceful than less hateful than any other way of being.
What I find the most distasteful is the use of fear of the unknown to conjure up all of these belief systems that promise something wonderful for almost everyone's self imposed miserable life.
