Putting Grandma in a home is hard when all you can think
about is the memories you shared with this wonderful
woman.
Visitng Grandma
I visted grandma the other day
And she smiled at me in the strangest way.
I knew by looking what was in her eyes,
To question her now would not be wise.
She was remembering the days when I used to come play
When I'd dress like a ghost and she'd shew me away.
When I jumped on the couch and she wasn't looking
For she was always busy, in the kitchen cooking!
We'd play dress up, and make-up and cook up a storm
She'd find blankets for my babies to keep them warm.
She'd count heads every night to make sure we're all there,
At Grandma's we knew we were in the best of care!
Yes, I know what she's thinking and I know why she smiles
So why does my hand tremble as I touch the dial.
For I must put Grandma in a home today,
Where she'll be safe and not far away.
Now memories still touch her beautiful eyes
My Grandma is smiling and she never cries.
They say her mind's gone, but those are just lies
She'll remember me, till the day she dies!
