Nobody sees what I am doing
Am I a secret psychopath?
Who’s just waiting for the moment
To unleash his secret wrath?
Or am I just a man that’s chosen
To follow a different path?
That leads to a secret garden
Where I enjoy a fragrant bath
I’m not allowed to have opinions
That differ from the faceless mob
To find pleasure in the quiet
Or satisfaction with my job
I must want more than base contentment
If I don’t, myself I rob
The cacophony of their voices
Drowns out my wearied sob
I’m not long in melancholy
For I live in a secret land
Where happiness is no real secret
It’s in the palm of every hand
Just follow where YOUR path will lead
The destination’s truly grand
When you arrive you’ll find contentment
