Bring me the heart that’s sanctified,
Lift my soul, if that’s Your will,
Make this world grow silent and still…
As my voice sings “Emmanuel,
Pour upon me the waters of Your well
Cleansing me, clearing my thoughts until
My hands lift to You from where I fell.”
Lead me from these shadowy halls,
Lead me to where Your angels call,
Until Your holiness is absorbed within,
And my praise may be lift again…
As my voice sings “Holy, holy, holy!
May my works bring You glory
As they whisper and shout Your story
In lyric and line…loving You wholly”
Let Your light so shine
With Your radiance divine
That all shadows will fall before
The power and glory that restores…
Once blinded by the darkness,
My eyes now witness
How Your love has a power that alone
Brings us from the valleys to Your throne,
As my voice cries out “Alleluia, alleluia,
How blessed we are now,
For Your glory rains each day
As Your word tells us how
To find peace in pain,
To find within loss, eternal gains;
To find the gift behind the loss,
To know the love Your peace cost.”
Lift my pen so I may stroke these words.
Empty my heart of what needs be heard.
Drip upon this ink Your everlasting love
Make this song glorify You above.
