Poem Artwork

" To know, know, know you....is to love, love, love you "

.......................................................................................

I walk along the sidewalk

as dusk becomes evening

crisp the night air

there's a chill hovering still

listening to my senses

my mind completely stilled

the skyline is dotted with silohuettes

of pine trees across the rooftops

and I can hear my heart

beating rhythmically

to the pulse of your spirit

in perfect tune with mine

a pigeon breaks cover

with a flap of whirring wings

criss-crossing the horizon,

a gentleness there

I quicken my pace

until I reach the park

darkness has settled

in the velvet of the night

wandering down to the pond

no one else is around

it's the time I love best

as the stars are appearing

one by one

like sparkling diamonds in the sea

and there's no one quite like you

my Lord has told me so

a moorhen squawks loudly

breaking the golden silence

mallard ducks come flighting down

effortlessly and gracefully

with a splash and ripple effect

amongst the pond lilies

and my heart thinks of you

feeling your presence here

as we meld into one

I rest for a while

on a very special boulder

the one my beloved mother

once used to sit upon

rocking me on her knee

and singing a sweet lullaby

a love unequalled

from here to eternity

and as the moondust sprinkles

and starlight settles all around

you can be sure my angel

that you are safely lodged

in the sacred repository

of my loving heart

Amplication of love so relevant, Peter, you have such an inner harmony with all life. These lines of image are so genuinely embedded,
