An eloquent and charming look at your ability to write authentically about this, and many other subjects. And you created a very impactful image, allowing the staff and notes to function as the woman's spine. Wonderful simplicity in saying "Hello" in musical terms. Loved this one.
I syncopated along with you in floor-floor time, and hardly missed a beat, all in perfect rhyme.
My mother used to draw, on the sideline of the paper she was keeping track of a card score, beautiful profile line drawings like you have for this poem. Only you have filled errors out much more with a part of the body and color, like in the lips, to emphasize the strong points of your image. Reminded me very much of the very sexy, Mayan woman who was my graduate assistant from Belize.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
