I sit staring, forlorn Shoulders weak Suspending the weight Of the world Pressure pulsates in the Caverns of my heart My soul disillusioned My thoughts are meek Internal fight merely Smoldering ashes Drifting in the wind Direction unknown Demanded by all Not pleasing to oneself Running towards illusion Weak, panting Needing sustenance Pleading for help Cut-off by walls Encircling loved ones No one sees the destruction My body imploding within Summoned by quicksand Gasping for life
Captivating in its strong emotive appeal and meaning. I know this feeling, Anne. You have done a masterful job of sharing its power. Thank you. Love, peace and strength to you. Regis
This is incredible.
It would be nice to hope this is just some poetic burp that has nothing to do with your circumstances.

Dear Anne,
This poem touched me deeply. I once wrote a poem called 'Stillness erupts' and although it was very different, the cry was the same. On the surface calm but beneath those still waters, fire breathing dragons lay in wait. It sounds like a lot of loving care is needed. If this is where you find yourself right now, I can only pray that you find relief...that those loved ones around you show their love of you and take the pressure from those poor weary shoulders. Take heart Anne, your voice is heard and even if we, your fellow poets, can't physically do anything to help you we are here to support you. Please reach out if you need care. You are a special woman.
