Some scars never heal..

Poem Artwork

I feel your eyes on me...

such lost eyes, so hungry

You sit in the shadows...waiting..

longing for what you cannot have.

I feel you in my soul,

in the silence of raw truth.

Where you cannot hide from me

though you try.

All that rage and pain that drives you,

those hurtful scars from long ago,

torment you beyond imagining,

twisting love's grace.

In the fog shrouded mists where you hide

my trembling hand reached out to touch you,

sensing the atrocious loneliness

behind the byzantine labyrinth of your mind.

You retreated in fear and hate,

breaking that small hand into pieces,

safe in that dark loveless hell

you created.

Yet, you long and love from behind the veils of deception still,

where I feel you....

and wait,

for you to step out from the shadows and face me.

I'll live each day in joy

refusing to run and hide

you cannot destroy me

though you've tried so hard....

In spite of the hurt and terror,

love will see me through

all the anguish and shame you've caused

for the crime of caring for you.

You have broken many souls.

I'm one of many you've scarred..

with one small difference...

I feel you

I see you

I will not let you bind me with chains of fear and hate.

Bloodied but not broken,

I stand ready to fight if need be,

Your equal in all ways..

to the bitter end.

His equal Candy? Much more than his equal surely.
Y'know sweetheart, at the moment my fave song is "with a little help from my friends" - I play it every day and think of you.
But in spite of everything you talent is undiminished.
love
