The Sidlaws. Proud defenders of the fertile plains
Viewing the Tay at arms length
Of summer berries, and Strathmore fields
Punnets in summer, and snowploughs in winter.
The Campsies. Ever vigilant over a divided city
Whose charms and warmth hide sectarian divides
Viewing the Clyde as it recalls its martime past
Cushioning the vibrant noise of a motorised speedway
Criffel. Guardian of the Solway shores
Our heritage and our vantage point
To view the Auld enemy advance.
Viewing the trout-tickling Nith on its way to the Caul
Where lovers stroll from time immemorial.
Three Scottish hills of varying size
Which have in their time
Been my refuge, my exhaustion
and my home.
