In this world of high tech social media, hearts can be broken in the cruelest way with reminders showing up everywhere of what was, what is, and what cannot be...

 She Thinks He Moved On

By: Fee

Hasn’t heard from her in a long time

Received no email, no text or no call

Never even wished him Happy Birthday

Wonder if, she thought of him at all

For a while, pretended it didn’t matter

Thought maybe if he gave her space

Blocked from mind, but not from heart

Believed no one could take her place

He sees pictures of her on social media

Happy with life, family and friends

Wonders if she found his replacement

Sometimes, that’s how the story ends

Days turned to weeks and then to months

He finally had to accept that she was gone

No matter that his hearts forever damaged

But you know, she thinks he moved on…

And this poignancy touchable, like a burn scar. You have the ability to describe an ache that is fresh and deep. Writing helps maybe, having it read helps, too, maybe. Who likes to be in pain un-noticed? That is part of what art does…conveys into the space of others so we do not feel quite so utterly alone. Keep on writing, carry the flame as though it can light even others’ ways. ~~ djl
