When Your Memories Visit
Now and then, your memory stops by for a visit
Bringing cherished images, that we once made
Once in a while, I think I even hear your laughter
Ain’t it funny how those memories never fade
For a little while, I almost made myself believe it
That I’d be much happier, without you in my life
I once had your love, now I only have its shadow
and the pain of losing you, still cuts like a knife
My calendar says Spring is just around the corner
Trees will blossom, the birds will come back home
New life and our old love you can always count on
I hope that now then you let your memories roam
Tonight again, as I wander through our memories
By your side is where I wish that I could truly be
Please know in your heart, that I will not forget you
Even though, I know, you asked to be set you free…

In the early morning hour, I dreamed my ex-wife who left me 40 years ago, came back to live with me and my current partner. I haven't thought of her in years. I even imagined what she looks like. There are no pictures anywhere. A strange coincidence with your poem.
