Why I'm still around. I never gave up since God is love
Mental Abuse
You don't understand since you can't see it. But it hurts as much or more than physical abuse. I take the pain inside and share it with no one except the bottle and the needles. They make me numb so I don't feel the real pain that's so deep inside of me. Mental Abuse causes more damage to a person since it's always there, in your brain playing like a broken record, you're fat, you're stupid, you're no good, no one will love you. That stays with you until you reach out for the one who will always love you, the only one who will always give you a chance and will never give up on you. Once you find God, you won't need the bottle or needles to feel good, because God loves you and will never leave you, because you won't ever let him down because he is the only unconditional love you'll need. Find God and Health and Happiness will follow and the pain will ease slowly and trust will come once again.
I wrote this because my partner was into heavy drugs and I was the one dealing with the mental abuse. I finally found God and looked in the mirror and said "I'm ready to go home". That year I did go home. I went to Hawaii and wrote the poems you are reading since God gave me the love I needed and still does. Thank you all who are reading this, I hope I can help you since we are all needed and loved no matter what. God Bless you all and have a wonderful day.
Amy, I am a fellow survivor of mental abuse, too, you are certainly not alone! But I know with God's Hand on me, He WILL make a way to heal me of the pains of the past, and He WILL continue to do good things for me. Wonderful write, and so true! Keep on writing; writing is the best form of therapy; and besides, the price is right, too...FREE!

Amy, I've too have been there, and it took me many years to recover from the mental and physical abuse, but today like you I have been blessed with brighter days and peaceful nights.
The human side in all of us reach for the obvious bottle and other things to numb our pain. It's all too sad that we add to the wounds we already have, with our own inflictions.
I'm glad to know that you have found peace through spiritual healing.
Keep writing...that too helps.

Amy, it takes alot of strength to overcome this type of abuse and god is an amazing power source to see you through.
These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
a very moving poem!
