First time at the hospital

I was screaming and bloody

I was born.

Firve years old at the hospital

I had a lollypop and balloon

Mom was crying

I got another shot

Thirteen, again at the hospital

I broke my arm

Mom was the first to sign the cast.

Fifteen, I was crying over a broken heart

Mom was passing the tissue box.

Seventeen standing in my prom gown

I handed mom the tissues.

"You're growing up."

Twenty five back at the hospital

Mom holding my hand and crying with me

as the Doctors bring me

my baby girl.
