On October 1st, Nigeria will be 45years old. To me, the country appear to be a toddler. Wake up, dear child!

In my country,
hunger is an emblem,
it's no longer a news item.
In my country,
poverty is not debateable,
it's a known fact.
In this our clime,
squalor is cast as
democracy dividend.
In this our clime,
they pay lip service
to health, education and good roads.
In my country,
boots and berets
wear garbs of democracy.
In my country,
thieves are revered, honored
as they hijack our commonwealth.
Powerfully said, Emeka! Tirants have always subjagated the weak in a thirst for power under the guise of good. God go with you and your country, my friend...Lin
Emeka, it is sad when this becomes fact, and we wonder how to change it. I think one way is education. Ignorance allows dictators to flourish. I pray your country will be blessed with fair leaders who know what justice means...
Facts duly exposed in compliance with poetic tasks.
"In This Clime" strikes many thoughts on politics.
I salute You, Poet!
