Events of grief and sorrow had multiplied severally in the last few months. While thinking, this poem came to me.

Even as life races on amidst condolences
Tragedies will not swallow our laughter;
Will not interrupt our songs.
We shall roll out
Drums in a dance
We shall gather maidens in gyration
To celebrate a passage -
A masquarade pummelled in mid-tempo
We shall hide our sorrows
We shall conceal our bleeding hearts
We shall not our sorrow
clutch like an egg
We raise our glasses in a toast
Though our sun fades
Our moon ebbs
We shall not grieve this loss;
Sorrow triumphs at night
Joy smiles at day time
For eternal laughter awaits us.
