As a young fish (a fingerling), Ms. Bass would splash and play
Skim the top of the lake in full display
She was shiny, sleek and slick
One hell of a catch
Pretty sure that she would never meet her match
But those who wish to lure create clever devices
To disguise their agendas and hide their prices
And one day you think you’re nibbling a crunchy cricket
And find you’ve been hooked through the mouth
And dragged through a thicket
These days Ms. Bass is careful about what she bites
Having been dragged by her lips and having paid the price
Ms. Bass no more dabbles in subtlety
She looks more closely and knows
She can’t rely upon what she sees
But certainly knows that the purple sparkly worms
Are a dime a dozen at WALMART
Have a WONDERFUL time in Perth, Blue Sleighty, catch a BIG one for me!
Love and Peace~

It's been awhile since I've been fishing but I use to love it and still do. Somehow I got the feeling the poem had a two-fold agenda besides catching only the scaley type of fish.(lol) A most enjoyable write.

To assume that what worked in the past is going to continue working in the future is somewhat delusional. People sometimes need to reinvent themselves and how they are percieved in the public. This of course is a subjective opinion, but I have personally done it several times in my past.
Loved the "metaphor" (-: of the quilt, and also loved the subject matter. Have fun in Perth. They've got some really big mouthed sharks down there.
