We laugh through our pain and, in anguish, try to erase the stain of our past Deep scars that form intricate beautiful maps to the treasure concealed in our minds The causes lost but the feelings always remain Gray skies above and immense clouds of grief Show us the umbrella that covers us all and rain down on us Drops of hope and painless freedom

Without the odd patch of despondency we could not fully appreciate the wonders of hope and the promise of tomorrow or the lessons of the past. Nice write Carrie, deep.
