The sun is painted black
And I'm watching blindly
As you rise to leave
I hide my face to feign
Indifference.
But it breaks my heart
That your caring only goes so far
The skyline through the window
Is like a silhouette against
The pale pink sky
And it saddens me
Another sunset and I'm still alone
Your padded words are the last I'll hear
Until I'm reborn into someone
Your indifference won't touch
It's come to this
So much pain, I've finally gone numb.
Sometimes poems are mirrors, and we need to know to fix a bad hair day.
