Years have ambled by since that first meeting, When I sat in a chair behind her thinking, Now there's a pair of finely sculptured legs, Covered with slippery, shiny nylon. For me there could be no greater turn-on.
A closedumbrellalay 'neath her chair.
The weather forecast threatened heavy rain.
Lunch time cast a thunder storm rare!
Lightning flashed; I glimpsed eyes of fear,
But in that same instant—a face so fair.
.
Under herumbrellawe crossed the street.
It's slipped my mind, our order to eat.
Only, that this lass enthralled me so,
After that single meal: a mere—Hello,
My very being filled with woe
~~~~~~~~Knowing she must go.
The afternoon ended, I droveJenniehome.
Though we lived on opposite sides of town
Made no difference to me. Cupid had struck.
I'd fallen for her—me, a hopeful young buck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That meeting was forty-four years ago.
Now there's much more that attracts me so.
Through countless ways she's a loving friend.
I will give her my heart till the very end.
