Much discipline goes into learning to abase one's self, but therein lies much power.

You Must Submit

I stand before you clothed in garments of willingness and submission

Upon my head I wear a crown bejeweled with strength and wisdom

My feet are adorned with shoes strapped with courage and experience.

You think that you have no desire for me, and in spite of all that I have to offer you,

You habitually run from me, trying to escape my grasp.

I place my wand of power upon your head as tenderly I whisper, Words of silver into your being.

You know my name, yet you turn from me

To the masked disguises of illusion and fantasy

Whose smiles are fake and deceptive

And who lure you into inescapable dungeons of darkness and despair.

You must face me. You must accept me, For only then

At that time, can you be whole.

My name is Reality. I am your Reality.

I will whip you into submission.

You will look upon me with desire and ambition.

For in my hand I hold the key that will open the lock On the doors of your imagined prison.

No longer will you be held captive by illusion's wall of deceit.

I release you. You are free.

Leah, this is a striking (no pun intended), well-crafted composition, which clearly illustrates the “reality” can and will whip one into shape, and release one from the hostile captivity of “illusions deceit.” Outstanding work. Thank you for sharing it. Take good care and be well.

Now this is a wonderful example of empowerment, not by mankind but by oneself as you so tantalizingly expressed. Leah you offer hope and promise in your words. Thank you.

My name is Reality. I am your Reality.
I will whip you into submission.

Reality truly has a way of doing that to us, and as you say, once we accept it, we truly are free.

A lot of "whipping into submission" and "wands of power" and . . . er . . . is that whip you weld bloody or do you make your miserable subject like the blood away after your "sessions?" Just kidding. Just kidding. The poem freaked out the fantasy-side of my brain. LOL
