"Laura" By David Rountree Looking out through the mists Through darkness clouded shrouds Beyond the realm of dreams and wishes Beyond the mark of time I saw your eyes. Compelling as the first two stars of night I was drawn from across the void of my soul All my life I have been at war All my life I have fought my way through Until I met you. Like a blanket of warmth you comforted me Bringing peace to a soul damned Opening my chilled heart You gave me the sweetest gift I have ever known Peace. Peace from the raging storm that my spirit rides Peace from a war fought long ago Peace from loves lost memories Peace from a tell tale heart I will always love you Laura
