When I'm awake they're at work
When I'm asleep they uncurl
If they weren't at my wrists
They'd be ruling the world
I know it sounds crazy
They're only my hands
But they want to be free
they resist my commands
With minds of their own
They're coming to life
They strike out in the dark
To strangle my wife
Then Right finds a cleaver
and swings it on down
to cut Left free
For a night on the town
The cops came and got me
I'm a madman, they know--
but if I did it myself,
then where'd my hand go?
Out in the streets,
the revolution persists
Left's raising an army
Hacking rebels from wrists
From my cell window I saw them
Thousands climbing the stairs
What will it be like
When the planet is theirs?
