The sands of my heart
are scattered by the wind,
my emotions torn apart
by the crashing waves within.
Not knowing which direction to go
I feel as though
I'm standing on the edge of time
teetering and tottering to and fro,
the earth being ripped
from underneath me.
Reaching out for a time before
this life came into being,
wondering what was, knowing what is,
consumed like a fire, stripped
down to it's bare essence.
The rainfall of my tears
turn the sands of my heart to mud,
washing away all that exists
as my body turns to dust
and quicksand fills my blood.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
