I watched it for a week saw it in infancy saw when it first showed its color deep red my favorite a gift for me in a new place a new home a new life at the front stoop where I sit and ponder and wonder a rose deep red a budding of new life rich in aroma I plucked it and watch it now on a ten dollar coffee table reminding me of the rich gifts that await if I have eyes to see
