little girl
bout four
fine brown hair flipped up at the ends
brown eyes holding hands
with
grandpa
stole a peek at me from behind
made eye contact
long enough for me
to
remember
my own little girl
long enough to stop my heart
tiny hand holding mine
so
long ago
rushing I was then
rushing to here and there
got to here all right
whisked by quicklike this life
but I remember
holding hands with a tiny one
