SUMMER SATURDAY
All my life I have dreamt of you.
My tears would come under a dark sky and a turbulent night.
I look back and sorrow fills me like thunder and smoke.
I didn’t live until we found each other.
Now life travels at the speed of blinking eyelashes.
We share everything and yet our time has been too short.
We stood on the lava flow and watched toucans fly over the jungle.
We sat on cliffs over the breakers and watched eagles fly to nearby islands.
We watched a sunset standing on a tall mountain.
We followed a river and discovered waterfalls and rapids.
Life travels at the speed of blinking eyelashes.
All my life I knew you were out in the world waiting for me to find you.
All my life I thought you were just a dream.
You are the song inside of my heart.
All my life I wanted to dance with you, alone in my world.
I look down at my broken fingers and the most damaged one wears your healing ring.
I only want to make you proud of me.
I only want you to hold me and whisper love to me.
You are my musician and I am the piano keys.
There was so much love inside of me.
So much I saved for you all those years.
When I look back at my life before you…
How did I do so many wrong things?
Why did our creator put me through so many challenging years…
And why wasn’t I strong or mature enough to go out and find you?
You were always waiting for me too.
When we met I knew this.
I had to win you; I had to struggle with emotion and courage.
I had to kiss you underneath a tall tree…
Because you and me were meant to be.
Life travels at blinding speed and we get older.
I keep reminding myself that our love can still grow to such heights.
We are not even halfway there.
I dream of you each day, every flower, every cool breeze, every bird singing…
Every lake, every road leads to you.
Life travels faster than our heartbeats,
But when we look into each other’s eyes,
We make it any day, any hour, any minute, and everything just stops.
I didn’t live until we found each other-in your eyes I gladly stop the world.
