An introspective piece about regret...

The journey ahead was the beacon of light,
Shimmering sunset to bright sunrise

With chance of salvation, day thro’ night
A gift to embrace with arms held wide

Without the journey nothing would fit
Offered vision and promise where none had lived

And so it would be a vigil to keep
Sensing a chance was ripe to pick

Searching the soul, offering the heart
In company of friends, who share the path

Knowing where once there was none but despair
Now lived desire and dreams of what may appear

Climbing the cliff, hearing a voice
Recalling times past with certain remorse

The one who was has been and gone
Leaving to flourish what will become
