A poem for strong women.

MOTHERS ARE PEARLS

We place you on a Pedestal

You have done so much throughout the ages

Without you, many would not have survived

You are intelligent, loving, and caring

You are vigorous, full of energy, potent and have plenty of power

You have done so much as a Mother, grandmother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend

You are the bond that binds the family together

You step out on faith and walk with pride

You are our Cleopatras, our Harriet Tub-mans, our Rosa Parks

Thank you for all your contributions, not only to your race but what you have done to improve the family, church, community, the world

Please continue as you are because we would not want you any other way

You are our Wilma Rudolph our Coretta Scott King, our Betty Shabazz

You are a Go Getter, Aggressive, and Persistent by Nature

You are made stronger through trials and tribulations

You are the backbone and strength to many

You may fall but you always get up because no one can hold you down

Mothers are Pearls, be proud of what and who you are

You are our Jane Pitman, Maya Angelo, and Mahalia Jackson

You are a true pearl, a gift to society. We love, honor, and cherish you

Success is your fame; you have a story and a legacy beside your name

Beautiful! I know that you're right about the characteristics of a truly loving mother, and those in whose footsteps they tread. A wonderfully rich tribute to mothers, both mothers of color and mothers around the world! Nicely done.

I had a good father, but it is my mother that knows me best. As I read your poem, I once again worried about the role of the black man in society and why we have failed him and not giving them the power to be the father he could be to his children.

My mother is a miracle. I wrote a book about her faith. I would have been a mess without mother! Your poem is a tribute to mothers everywhere. Well done!

You also said on your website, "Don't ever give up on your dream. It is never too late to achieve your goals."

I believe you are right!

That's why I decided to become your fan this night. Amen!

Our heroes are revealed for all they are, the final flash of a dying star, for with this pen I do they mar, with hopes I leave ‘em all a scar.
